Horsham Clinic

AEC, Inc. recently completed the civil, structural, MEP & FP requirements for the new single story, 25,000 square foot behavioral health clinic at UHS’s Horsham campus.

This new facility, shaped like an “E”, houses a different patient type in each wing. The nurses stations are at each intersection, while offices, family activities, and conferencing occur along the connecting stem.

Five large air-handlers and their duct work are housed in the A-frame attics. Each of the mechanical rooms are connected by common maintenance corridors above the main building corridors. AEC completely re-engineered the entire campus infrastructure to house the new building within a common courtyard. The phased site changes were all accomplished prior to the building to allow for continuous operations for the other campus structures. The relocated utilities included data, sanitary, storm water, gas, and electric. The campus wide emergency power system was also relocated. A basement mechanical room was designed for the new building site utilities and a central heating plant plus central chilled water distribution pumping, which fed the five air-handlers from a common site located air cooled chiller.
