Blessed Teresa of Calcutta Education Center

On July 1, 2006, the Archdiocese of Philadelphia established Blessed Teresa of Calcutta Parish in Limerick Township, Montgomery County. The new parish was the result of the consolidation of St. Peter's Parish Pottstown, and St. Clare's Parish, Linfield.


The first phase of construction for the parish was a new Education Center. The Education Center consisted of 22 classrooms that can accommodate 550 students, a 8500 square foot gymnasium, kitchen, and 2500 square feet of office space. The cost for construction was $8 million dollars.


The structure in the two-story classroom space the second floor is a 2 ½” concrete slab on bar joist with the roof prefabricated wood trusses both supported on load bearing masonry walls. The office area is one-story bar joist and metal deck supported on load bearing masonry walls. The gymnasium is a prefabricated metal building system.
