Lansdale Hospital

Lansdale, Pennsylvania

The new 10,000 square foot Emergency Department renovation and small addition was designed to dovetail with the proposed new medical office building to be constructed on a site diagonal to the new facility. Swing space had to be designed and constructed to insure that the existing ER could provide uninterrupted services to the community.

AEC diverted and severed the existing mechanical system for the existing ER, and designed a new stand-alone mechanical, electrical and fire suppression system for the new space. A drive-up canopy, drop-off zone, and modifications to the parking area including concrete stairs and ramps were designed to orient and accommodate patients at the new Emergency entrance. A new bridge structure was designed on the roof of the canopy, which will connect the second floor of the hospital to the proposed medical office building across the street.

AEC was retained to relocate the different functions within the new Emergency Department to its new location, requiring coordination with eight different departments over a period of four months. AEC also relocated the heliport, to accommodate the new MOB and canopy designs
